Consider donating to the Idaho Hunger Relief Task Force on Giving Tuesday this year. Your funding will go toward eradicating hunger in Idaho. We sponsor and coordinate the biennial statewide Summit on Hunger and Food Security, the only privately funded SNAP outreach program in the country and the innovative intiative Rx for Fresh Fruits and Vegetables in collaboration with the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho. We are quickly approaching Idaho Gives! The Idaho Hunger Relief Task Force couldn't run without the generous support of individuals and organizations! We need your help! Go to www.idahogives.org on May 3 to donate and help support our Screen and Intervene program where we helped over 200 families receive a full resource assessment and follow-up from trained care navigators, and helped connect patients to local resources such as; weatherization services, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) and, Double-Up Food Bucks at farmers markets. "The world will not be able to end hunger without confronting climate change and its threat to people who are hungry and marginalized.” -Bread for the World, July 2015
You are invited to join the Idaho Interfaith Roundtable Against Hunger (IIRAH) for a community gathering with the theme Climate Change: Impact on Idaho’s Food System.
Dr. Rebecca Som Castellano, Boise State University, will share her climate change and food security expertise. She will be joined by three Idahoans who will share their personal experience and voices about the impact of climate change on their ability to produce food for us. Learn ‘why and what’ you can do to be a part of the solution.
This is a free event. All are welcome! Refreshments will be served. For more information, visit www.iirah.org.
Since 2008, the Idaho Hunger Relief Task Force has been putting public and private resources into action to promote food security statewide. Our highlighted programs are Screen and Intervene, Cultivate Idaho Initiative, Breakfast in the Classroom, and SNAP into Action. We also coordinate the biennial summits on hunger and food security in Idaho. Much like other amazing non-profits, our programs flourish with support from community members like you! In 2010 Amy Nack, Wingtip Press, was cleaning out the flatfiles and wondered what to do with the little scraps of paper that were jamming up the drawers. She figured they weren't the only printmarkers with such delicious problems. So Wingtip invited a few printmaking pals to create prints from their scraps.
Since then Wingtip has exhibited Leftovers prints from hundreds of artists from around the world, made new friends and expanded their collection of extraordinary prints. Wingtip Press has been successful in arranging multiple international exhibitions of the Leftover prints and will continue to make sure that happens.
Join the Idaho Hunger Relief Task Force at Payette Brewing Company to help alleviate hunger within our community. There will be local food trucks on site and great local beer.
1/8 children in Idaho are food insecure. With your help, the Idaho Hunger Relief Task Force can expand its efforts to eradicate hunger with Screen and Intervene. Screen and Intervene is currently piloting a program with the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho screening families and children to intervene and eliminate hunger throughout our community.
The Idaho Hunger Relief Task Force envisions that in a state as abundant as Idaho, hunger will not exist and works to put public and private resources into action statewide in order to eliminate hunger and provide food security for all Idahoans.
