Meet the Presenter
Shannon Robins is the State Legislative Relations Manager for Feeding America national office. Feeding America is a leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Feeding America’s mission is to feed America's hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage our country in the fight to end hunger.
Feeding America’s network of more than 200 food banks serves all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, securing and distributing more than 2.5 billion pounds of food and grocery products annually. Those member food banks support approximately 61,000 local charitable agencies and 70,000 programs, which provide food directly to individuals and families in need
Workshop Theme
Do you know how to get a hold of your legislator? Do you know what policies affect hunger and nutrition in Idaho? Many people and organizations in Idaho would like to lend thier voice to fighting hunger in the state, but they do not know how. Advocacy and public policy can be difficlult for many to understand on their own. This workshop seeks to aid individuals and organizations in "finding your voice" to speak out against hunger and advocate for public policies that can make a difference. Attend this workshop to learn what you can do to speak up.
