Applying the White House Playbook to Idaho
The 2023 Hunger Summit focused on identifying Idaho-specific approaches for ending hunger based on the White House Strategy released in the fall of 2022. At the end of the meeting, Hunger Summit Action Teams were formed to implement the program and policy solutions identified by Hunger Summit participants. The Hunger Summit focused on four of the five pillars:
Pillar 1: Improve Food Access and Affordability.
Pillar 2: Integrate Nutrition and Health
Pillar 3: Empower All Consumers to Make and Have Access to Healthy Choices
Pillar 5: Enhance Nutrition and Food Security Research
The Work of the Hunger Summit Action Teams
At the Summit meeting, stakeholders collaborated on identifying Idaho-specific objectives. The Hunger Summit focused on four of the five pillars. At the Summit meeting, stakeholders collaborated on identifying Idaho-specific objectives. Volunteers willing to work on the objectives formed Action Teams.
